Osaka Mint Bureau Cherry Blossom Passage

Different varieties of cherry blossoms decorate the Osaka Mint Bureau

The Mint was built in 1871 (Meiji 4) and was Japan’s first currency foundry. The “Sakura-no-toorinuke” filled with cherry blossom trees inside the Mint is very popular. From the south gate to the north gate, there are many varieties of cherry blossom trees on both sides of Sakura Street, which is about 560 meters long. Every year around mid-April, it is open to the public for about a week.
