"Little Kyoto" with brilliant cherry blossoms
Kakunodate, known as Little Kyoto, has about 400 weeping cherry trees in bloom on both sides of the road lined with samurai houses. It is said that they are the same species as those in Gion, Kyoto, and 162 of them are designated as national natural monuments. One of the “Top Three Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Northeast China” and “The Top 100 Cherry Blossoms in Japan”.
